Escapism through illusionary realism

A very similar feeling creeps in. One I have not felt in a very long time. It’s the feeling one has when we are so sad and troubled with something that we find solace in the mundane workings of everyday life.

The total opposite of this would be the choice of extreme inebriation as an escape route. Getting sozzled on vodka and lime and trying to deal with what’s troubling you by over thinking it. This is precisely what you do not want to do in this frame of mind. You want to go on about life as if the problem does not exist. Sweep that dust under the carpet, throw those skeletons into that closet. Escapism through illusionary realism.

But then what?

You’ve got to deal with it some day. Some time. You can’t run forever. That eerie uncomfortable feeling starts taking over. It’s the feeling of a coward not wanting to deal with his problems, but being forced to because it’s the only way of getting over it, and the only true way of staying happy and keeping others around you happy.

The Universe throws loads of these problems at you and if you feel uncomfortable, then it’s precisely what you’ve come here to tackle.

Deal with it. Feel the emotions that course through your mind and body as you feel the unpleasantness of it all and then let it go. Let it go by knowing how to deal with it so that next time it comes around, you don’t need to try and dodge it or go around it. You can walk through it because it won’t exist for you any more.

And then you do what you are actually meant to be doing with your life. Be happy.
